The Goldackersche Schloss in Weberstedt is the starting point of a 1.9 or 2.9 mile round trip nature discovery trail.

In the year 960, the renaissance palace - the "Schloss" - was mentioned in historical documents for the first time as a moated castle of the Lords of Weberstedt. Later, the building was known as the knight's manor of the Lords of Goldacker ...

The nature discovery trail starts in the palace garden. Follow the signposts showing a rock goat.

You arrive at Hainich National Park passing several hundred year old oaks, beeches and ash trees, agricultural fields.

Here you may extend the nature discovery trail as far as you like in the direction of the Tree Top Trail at Thiemsburg.
