Climbing trees is easy in Hainich National Park:

Driving from Eisenach to Bad Langensalza you turn left at Reichenbach in the direction of Craula.

Or you drive from Muehlhausen to Bad Langensalza and turn right at Schoenstedt direction Alterstedt, Zimmern, Craula.

You follow the signposts 'Baumkronenpfad' and park your car at the Thiemsburg parking lot.

There are busses from Eisenach and Bad Langensalza to Thiemsburg, Schoenstedt. You get the information on the bus schedules from the German Railways website: www.bahn.de.

At the tree tower you climb the stairways - there is a lift for wheelchairs. From the 130 feet high platform you enjoy a top view of Hainich National Park.

From the tree tower a 0.2 mile you walk a 32 to 79 feet high round trip passing the leaves of nine different deciduous trees up to Hainich National Park's tree tops.
